Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a system of maintaining & improving the integrity of production, safety & quality systems through the machines, equipment, processes & employees that add business value to an organization.

TPM is meant to integrate equipment maintenance into the manufacturing process. If you're employed in a factory involving production, you cannot avoid not learning how to do a Total Productive Maintenance, even if you're not directly working in the manufacturing or engineering floor.

There are 8 pillars surrounding the TPM which are critical for employees to understand & apply:

1. Autonomous Maintenance

2. Focused Improvement

3. Planned Maintenance

4. Quality Management

5. Early Equipment Management

6. Education & Training
