Mental Health in the Workplace

Mental health is the level of psychological well-being or an absence of a mental illness. It is the state of someone who is "functioning at a satisfactory level of emotional & behavioural adjustment.” Mental health is about how we think, feel & behave. Anxiety & depression are the most common mental health problems. These are often reactions to a difficult life event, such as bereavement, but can also be caused by work-related issues. Some of the key causes are work related stress, unreasonable bosses, personal work expectations & inability to manage priorities well.

The outbreak of coronavirus may be stressful for some people. Fear & anxiety about a pandemic can be overwhelming & cause strong emotions in working adults especially when having to work from home or back in office.
